Reflective Writing
This was a fun and learning experience for me. Not only did I learn more about Gangs in Utah, but I also learned new things about powerpoint. I chose to do my E-Portfolio on Gangs in Utah because I work in a prison and Gang members are a plague to us. I have found that gangs are not just a social problem in a correctional setting, but a problem everywhere.
Gangs are at the heart of the drug abuse in the world. They use unlawful violence to intimidate and force victims into submission. This is a social problem that needs all the attention it can get. I am happy to be in law enforcement where I can be involved with combating this social problem.
This was a good class for the simple fact that it opened my eys to social problems that I did not follow previously. I am thankful for the lessons learned here and I know they will be a part of my life now as I have formed my own educated opinion about them.
