Duties

I started as a Correctional Officer in the Relief Pool. I was deployed by the Marine Corps to Iraq for one year. After I returned from my deployment I was assigned to work in the Relief Pool again. I was later assigned to work in the Gale housing unit. I worked there until my present assignment. Now I work to investigate and manage gang issues within the prison. I was also placed in charge of investigating phone calls made by inmates to people outside the prison.

Duties

I was a Sergeant, Squad Leader, and Vehicle Commander. It was my responsibility to train and prepare my squad for our assigned missions in the combat theater of Iraq and then execute those missions in cooperation with our Platoon. Our missions were various and many. First and foremost was to locate and destroy the enemy. We transported detainees, escorted convoys of supplies to their destinations, did searches of vehicles and homes, seized contraband and, if necessary, made arrests.

I worked as a Recruiter. It was my responsibility to search out and convince qualified applicants to enlist into the Marine Corps. Once they had enlisted it became my responsibility to prepare them mentally and physically for Boot Camp and service in the US Marine Corps. This was one of the most difficult yet satisfying duties I ever had as a Marine.

Duties

I started with Boot Camp and School of Infantry. Once I completed my training I checked into my unit and was granted a two year leave in order to serve an LDS mission. Once I returned I was deployed to Japan. While deployed into South East Asia I was a Light Armored Reconnaissance Scout. In that assignment I and a small team of three other Marines would gather crucial information while training in regards to the terrain of an area, the exact location of the enemy, the size and weapons capability of the enemy and other vital information. When I returned to the United States I was promoted to the rank of Corporal and served as a Scout Team Leader. At this time I was involved in the training and leading of a team of three Scout Marines. I did this until I received orders to go on Recruiting duty.
